Grooming services tailored to your dog
Every dog is an individual with not only unique physical attributes, but with their own personality traits and preferences. Our dog grooming salon and spa takes into consideration the pace your dog prefers, their physical and emotional limitations, their age, and breed specific needs.
Built upon decades of animal behavior expertise and our vast experience in animal husbandry, training, and grooming, we provide a calm, comfortable environment and ensure the utmost respect for our clients' well being. We promote humanity before vanity, promising to do what is best for your dog in every step we take.
Our services are one on one, so your dog will always be under our careful attention. We don't want to keep your pets waiting for any longer than necessary so we take them in at their allotted appointment time and return them back to your loving arms as soon as their groom is completed. This practice of limiting the number of dogs in the shop at once ensures a low stress experience and allows your dog to enjoy their spa time without concerns over having unknown animals nearby. Of course we will happily accommodate multiple pets from the same family if you prefer to keep them together.
When you arrive at our salon, you will call to check in. After bringing your pet inside, you should bring up any questions or concerns you might have. Please share with us how you would like your dog to be trimmed with as many reference photos or notes as you wish. We want to be sure you are happy with your best friend's style! We will give you an estimate for when you can pick up your dog at drop off and give you a price estimate. If during your dog's grooming, we encounter anything that might alter the price or affect the pick up time, we will contact you immediately. If something comes up medically, if a dog shows signs of distress or any other condition that might prevent us from completing your dog's grooming safely, we will also call you. When the session is completed, we will contact you to let you know how their grooming went and inform you that your pet is ready for pick up. Any concerns or observations will be noted that may need further attention, including possible medical issues to discuss with your veterinarian at your pet's next veterinary visit.
After checking out, we will be glad to book your next appointment with us!
Specialized care for your dog's coat
If your dog needs just a little tidy up in between full grooming visits, we offer a maintenance grooming service to keep your pet's coat in good condition but with minimal trimming. Your pet will still get a complete bath, hand drying, and nail trim if necessary, but instead of a full body trim, we will just neaten up some key areas that tend to get shaggy looking first.
Double coated breeds (like Siberian huskies, Shetland Sheepdogs, Golden Retrievers, and German Shepherd dogs) shed their undercoat out as a part of the natural cycle of hair growth. It becomes quite heavy at various points in the year and it can be daunting for the average person to keep up with.
Especially during the summer months when many dogs enjoy spending time in the water and in wooded areas where insects live, removing impacted hair helps them to dry faster, allows proper airflow to regulate body temperature, and prevents insects from finding easy hiding places in your dog's coat.
A professional deshedding also helps keep your dog comfortable and your furniture cleaner year round.
Sometimes a dog's coat becomes too impacted to work out safely, sometimes an older dog cannot tolerate brushing at home and they have developed matted spots that are just too tight for a regular comb to handle or perhaps it has simply been too long between grooms and it is difficult for you to keep your dog's coat brushed out properly.
We have professional tools and techniques for dealing with matted hair. We assess the condition of your dog's hair and skin, carefully remove the matted hair and bathe your dog in a gentle rehydrating replenishing shampoo, then style them to look cute and clean. We will create a plan with you to either alter their grooming schedule or take the coat to a length that suits your dog's lifestyle for further care and prevention of matting and will happily point you in the right direction for tools or tips on future coat maintenance.
Expert care for specific grooming needs
Long nails can cause discomfort for your dog. Regular trimming is important for your dog's health. Our groomers are experts in trimming and grinding nails in the lowest stress methods possible.
If you have a dog with a coarse wire coat that you wish to keep in proper condition or a dog with a soft spaniel-like coat that needs the underlying downy hair stripped out, we can accommodate with a hand stripping service. Hand stripping is a specialized service not offered by many grooming shops due to the high level of skill and extensive one-on-one time required.
Gently introduce your new puppy to the grooming salon environment with a fun, positive first visit.
Full or impacted anal glands can cause irritation or pain. Our gentle, precise techniques relieve discomfort and restore your dog's comfort. Dogs often scoot on the floor to relieve gland pressure. Our service eliminates this issue, keeping your pet at ease. Proper care prevents odor and minimizes the risk of infections in this sensitive area. Our groomers are trained to perform anal gland expression safely and effectively, minimizing stress for your dog.
